MS Tech is currently developing the FOODSCAN, a hand-held and portable food contamination detector. The development program of the FOODSCAN addresses the current gaps in food safety & product inspection. It uses the most advanced scientific and technological approach to identify potential foodborne illnesses ahead of time. This helps protecting consumers from unintentional or deliberate contamination.

Food safety is a critical global issue. Consumers want assurance that the food on their table is of the highest quality and free of contaminants. Regulatory bodies such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Food Safety Working Group, European Union, the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare are imposing increasingly stringent and ever broadening food safety & product inspection standards.

You need to have an instrument by your beside that can detect the food contaminants real-time without the need to rely on the lengthy and costly lab analysis process. The FOODSCAN is the only hand-held and portable food contamination detector than can detect the contamination caused by common pathogens such as Salmonella, E.coli O157:H7, Listeria and others.

The FOODSCAN can detect and identify chemical contaminants in 6 seconds. With a cold time start of 1 minute and weighing approximately 850 gr. including an 8-hour battery, the FOODSCAN is a small, powerful ally in the food safety regulation and enforcement. When combined with GPS and/or Wi-Fi transmission, data collected by the FOODSCAN can be transmitted to central database centers to report and monitor the presence of food contamination.

With multi-language support, the FOODSCAN is still the smallest, lightest and hand-held food contamination detector. It is also the only one that can detect and identify the contaminants you cannot see or smell.
